Tarmac Rally Boaden Motorsports Classic Adelaide
PROLOGUE: 4 km distance; Ambient Temp. 12-14 degrees; Road surface: asphalt; Tyre pressures: 28 PSI cold and 33 to 34 PSI hot

I found the cornering, braking and acceleration transmitted to the ground through the 595 Tyre to perform well beyond my expectations. The adhesion at high speed and with very high temperatures did not change the performance or grip level at all and knowing this then gave me more confidence to carry higher speeds through cornering and late braking.

Given our very limited Tarmac Rallying experience we were very happy with our times and results. First in Class 6A Modified (1979 model and under 2 liter capacity). Definitely going back next year with new 2 Door Escort which will be lighter and have more power (Cosworth Motor) and would again use Federal Tyres as we were extremely happy with their wear and grip. We would definitely run with more negative camber on the front as the outside of the tyre wore much more than across the face.

Thanks Federal and to you Brett and your company for the Sponsorship of the Tyres including the shirts and caps. They were much appreciated by all the crew. Helen and I have just completed the final round of the NSW Rally Championship and have won the outright Championship for the second year running. We had a total of 118 points with the next closest on 75 John Stillings from Canberra in a car which we built here in our Wauchope Workshop 4 years ago.

Many Thanks once again for your assistance. Please find enclosed some photos from the Adelaide event.

Yours Sincerely,

Michael Boaden
