Tragic loss of young talent and an all round nice guy.
In 2008 a young, talented drift racer named Luke Jacobs caught the attention of the Australian drift community and the attention of Federal Tyres Australia by displaying amazing skill, discipline and control for his age.
As well as being one of the most promising new talents in Australian drifting Luke was known to everyone he met as "one of the nicest guys" and "a genuinely good bloke".
With the support of his father Alan Jacobs, Luke raced his Nissan Skyline drift car in the Drift Australia series managing to impress many along the way.
Luke and Alan were planning on having another great year in 2009 with more support from Federal Tyres, until in early February Luke, his mother and father and close friend Nathan Charles were defending their home in country Victoria from the threat of the worst bushfires in Australia's history.
Tragically Luke, his family and close friends lost the fight against the bushfires.
Federal Tyres Australia wish to express our sincerest condolences to the friends and family of the Jacobs", it is truly a terrible loss of young talent, an all round nice guy and his family, they will be sorely missed.
